Powershelter
Too innovative?
What do you do when you have a product so unique that the laws and regulations don’t actually take it into account yet? That was the problem Powershelter ran into.
Powershelter develops innovative systems for the safe charging and storage of batteries. Smart, modular and with a different risk profile than existing solutions, but therefore also difficult to fit into the existing standards framework.
Certified worldwide
Instrux identified all angles: from electrical safety and fire risks to use cases in different countries. Based on this, a clear certification pathway was established. We managed the entire process and arranged the necessary certifications for different regions:
- EU
- United States
- Canada
- Saudi Arabia
As a result, Powershelter can now scale to new markets at lightning speed, without having to start from scratch each time.
From certification to insurance
In addition, Powershelter ran into another issue: insurability. Because the product is outside existing frameworks, it was not obvious to insure. Instrux therefore facilitated an introduction to an appropriate insurer. In that discussion, we explored how this type of product could be responsibly incorporated into current practice, possibly even developing a new standard specifically for this type of solution.
